And so the next project begins... the front yard.

This is the before shot. We wanted to incorporate recycled bricks in the fence and put Chris's skills to work. The pavers had started to sink and warp and we had no idea what we wanted to do with the large garden bed. Time would tell.

How much it was going change....

Out with the mysterious Sandpaper wattle

Next was replacing the fence. Recycling/salvaging as many pickets as we could and giving them a fresh lick of paint. Then it was up to Chris and the boys to create the stunning piers.

Settling in...

It's been over 12 months since we moved in to our first home together and I have been wanting to document the improvements and projects we've accomplished so far on our little 1930's home.

After a big effort moving in over the Easter weekend in 2015, furniture shopping and puppy proofing were of high importance on the to do list!

The front yard was overgrown with pumpkin vines that were starting to spill out onto the footpath! They were the first things to go, with the help of Carl of course! We got some beautiful big pumpkins and even made some hearty pumpkin soup! The front yard would then have to wait as we had plans for out the back first.....

Unfortunately the very mature lemon tree had to go, it was creating a lot of mess and spilling over into the neighbour's yard. We also wanted to pull up a few pavers and lay down some grass. It was a very hot area being all pavers and also gave Carl a little area to run and roll around in.

Going.... Going.... Gone

And lemons for days

Planted some Orange Twist hedges against the fence to create a screen and border the grass

Starting to settle in....
